The location of the Bonsyde House makes it the ideal base for exploring some of Scotland's best known attractions. Edinburgh is just 20 minutes away, and therefore the hotel's location is ideal, making the Capital easily and quickly accessible.

The renowned Edinburgh International Festival, an annual event during August and September, is in fact a whole series of festivals, covering Music, Dance, Theatre, Jazz, Cinema and Television, Books, not forgetting the unique and famous Edinburgh Fringe which can be, and usually is, almost anything and totally unpredictable!

For visitors who prefer walking, climbing or hillwalking the Bonsyde itself is at the centre of a number of local waymarked routes, and Stirling, the Gateway to the Highlands and centre of Braveheart country, lies less than thirty minutes away by motorway. From there the active tourist is faced with a huge choice of possibilities at all levels of skill in outdoor activity.

For many people it is Scotland's history that proves to be the irresistable pull to the country. Some of Scotland's great country houses, like Hopetoun House, home of the Marquess of Linlithgow and Scotland's finest stately home, and the House of The Binns, home of Tam Dalyell MP, lie just minutes away from the hotel.
